Weekend Fun

Faithful readers,

I had quite a weekend this past weekend.

Things really began on Thursday night, when I went to the wonderful Barracuda bar in Chelsea with the friend and co-worker Rodd. I had been told going to bars alone would be a good way to meet new people, but I knew that I would be much to terrified to actually do that, so Rodd and I went together. First of all, I will never go to a bar alone, because I watched a couple of people who were alone at this bar. No one approached them. They just stood in a corner with their drinks and watched other people. If that had been me, I probably would have kept drinking until I needed to take a cab home and then cried in bed and been unhappy the whole next day. Thank g-d that didn't happen!

Anyway, Rodd and I spent the whole time we were there talking to each other and I didn't meet anyone new. I think the reason for this is that I'm afraid to make eye contact with people. I'm afraid that any type of eye contact is an invitation for someone to talk to me. When someone starts talking to me, I'll be very polite and moderately awkward and kind of boring. Anyway, they'll probably want to sleep with me, so I'll go home with them. The next morning, I'll realize that I'm not interested in spending any sort of non-sexual time with this person, and I'll have to figure out what to do when they start calling in a couple of days. This whole thing is like a really crazy and gay version of that "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie..." The point is, I'm too crazy to meet new people.

The next day, I went in to work, and spent about seven hours using Yahoo Yellow Pages in Spanish, or Páginas Amarillas, to find fax numbers of Spanish dermatologists, or dermatólogos.

On Saturday, I went to my alma mater, Vassmont college, and saw a concert, and then traveled back to New York. What fun!

That's pretty much it. Sunday just found me trying to do some school work, and being unproductive. I can't really do work until the night before things are due anyway, and nothing was due on Monday.

I guess I'm all caught up. Soon, I'll let you know how today's been going for me. Here's a little teaser: more dermatólogos.

I think I speak for myself and DJ Dickmont when I say that you should really just do your schoolwork. Seriously, Avi. Just do it.
