Wow. Today's been quite a day at the office. I'm still temping at my friends independant medical research company, and the fun hasn't been stopping.
The big event of the day happened earlier this morning. Certain people in the office always order breakfast from the same place. First of all, there was some lingering confussion from yesterday as to whether or not the bran muffins were in fact fat-free. The breakfast place claimed they were, but this one co-worker of mine had her doubts. I thought that the office had convinced her to trust the muffins yesterday, when we discussed this issue, but I was dead wrong. This co-worker of mine, let's call her "Jan," had to have the person placing the order ask the breakfast place if the fat-free claims were serious, or an elaborate hoax.
Even more importantly, when the food arrived, things were not as they should have been. The person who placed the call found that his muffing was burnt. He had to call the place and let them know what happened. He suggested that perhaps the burnt muffin came from people rushing to get the order out. He instructed them to just slow down and take their time.
Soon after, Jan noticed that her muffin was burnt as well. Another call had to be made to the breakfast place to inform them of this latest development. Well, after that, everyone who ordered food at the office had to be asked to describe their eating experience today, just to be certain that the breakfast place was trying to pull any more fast ones on the good workers at this medical research company.
