Another Thing
On Thursday night, in my Brahms class, someone was presenting their analysis on a piece of music. They were trying to argue some point that people weren't really agreeing with. Anyway, as he tried to explain his thoughts he came up with a wonderful analogy. He said, "the Db is the killer, the C is the weapon, and the F is the victim." Just to make sure that we're all on the same page, no amount of musical training and education can make that make sense. Seriously, the people in my class are morons.
Subway Dilema
On Friday, I went to my local Subway sandwich shop. Even though I hadn't been there in over two weeks, the guy there knew exactly what I wanted. It felt fantastic.
However, shortly after I arrived, this old man came in, confirmed what day of the week it was, and ordered the sandwich of the day. You see, for those of you out of the loop, everyday of the week has a different featured sandwich. I started thinking, I wonder if I'd be happier if I changed things up, and didn't get the same sandwich every day. If I did that though, then I wouldn't have the pleasure of having the workers know what I want to eat.
What should I do?!?

Mock-Blog Post
Well,
I'm here at my school's library, just kickin' it, and thought I'd share what I did this past Monday.
Before we get started, everyone should know that I initialed a statement saying that I would not repeat what was discussed on Monday, so I'm going to be vague.
I went to a mock-trial/focus group on Monday!!! It was fantastic. We got to hear a very important case about someone trying to get money from an insurance company, and the company trying to give as little as possible. Well, let's just say that the insurance company who organized the mock trial is probably scared to death, and ready to settle, because my jury hated them, and awarded a lot of mock-money to the plaintiff.
The excitement of being on a mock-jury made me want to be on a real jury. We all had a great little deliberation session, and I made a lot of new friends. The reunion's going to be three weeks from tomorrow, so don't ask me to do anything that night. I'm hoping someone gets injured while we're partying, so that we can have another great discussion about how much pain and suffering's going on (P and S for those of you in the know).
Love,
Avi K

I'm Back

Well, after a long absence from the blog, I'm back, and what a time I've had since we last spoke.
First of all, I worked hard on Thursday, since I was told that I was no longer needed at the office, and I really wanted to go out with a bang. Anyway, I finished work, and then spent Friday living it up in New York City. I visited with a friend from summer camp, who was visiting the city to look at grad school, and then spent time with my sister. Yep, I'm doing it all.
Later that night, I went to a community orchestra concert. That all would have been fine, except my friend Wayne Newton and I got into an uncontrollable giggling fit during the slow movement of a Mozart Symphony. How embarrassing.
Anyway, not much happened this weekend, so we might as well just skip over that. However, I'll be back soon with news of what I did yesterday. Trust me, you'll want to hear all about it.
To make up for my long absence, I'm including a really fun picture from the internet.

Other Updates
1. Remember over the summer when Apple laptop batteries where overheating and/or catching fire? Well if you don't climb out from the rock you've been living under and join us in the real world. Anyway, my dad called me and told me to check out my laptop battery and see if it needed to be recalled. I didn't really want to deal with that, so I just ignored his directions. Well, earlier this week, I recieved a letter from apple, listing serial numbers of batteries that needed to be recalled. I decided that I'd rather check out my computer than prepare for school, so looked at my battery. It turns out, it does need to be recalled, so I contacted apple, and they are sending me a new battery. My dad's going to be really happy. He loves these kinds of things.
2. I just looked up a doctor named "Robert B. Minor." I really enjoyed that. Get it? B minor? Like the key.
3. I'm starting to get nervous about my big presentation today. I'm not really prepared. Right now, my plan is just to play a lot of music. Enough of that, and I'll only have to talk for about ten minutes.
4. I bought a space heater yesterday. It looks like a fan, and will probably burn down my apartment, but at least I won't be cold anymore. I picked it up between work and school, and was lucky enough to get to take it out with me to Queens, where I go to school. It was raining a lot yesterday, and some crazy guy who worked at my school joked with me that I should take it outside and turn it on. It wasn't very funny, but I laughed awkwardly. I had been talking with a French person, and I don't think he understood what was going on.

How Much Longer?
How much longer will I work at this job? I don't think the people who work here need me anymore. I came in late this morning, after spending time at Staples getting ready for a presentation I'm giving in school today, and found two of the other workers doing the exact same thing that I'm doing, looking up fax numbers on the intenet. Anyway, I don't feel like the things I'm really needed at the office these days. However, the people who work here are very lazy. It's easy to get addicted to having temps do your work for you.
In sad news, because I was late today, I missed the ritual ordering of breakfast. Yesterday, breakfast was perfect, prompting a congratulatory call. All I can hope is for a strong reaction to today's breakfast, leading to more phone calls and discussions.

Back in the Swing of Things
Well, I had quite a weekend, and am now back to the daily grind of the office.
My weekend was pretty fun. I saw some people that I hadn't seen in a while, which was nice. Unfortunately, there were so many people who wanted me to come to their events this weekend, and I couldn't do them all. I'm now spending my days racked with horrible guilt. My only solution when I feel bad about not seeing someone is to ignore them for a while, as to avoid explaining why I couldn't hang out. It's not a perfect system, but to be fair, I'm not a perfect person. However, in general the weekend was good, even though I did a couple of things that I probably shouldn't have done. Oh well. That's just par for the course when you're as crazy as I am.
Now that I'm back at work, things aren't so great. The monotony of my job enables me to start thinking about depressing things, and I spend the bulk of the work day feeling sad for myself. Also, people on the phone keep calling me ma'am. For all of you readers who don't know me, I'm not a woman. I really don't think I sound like a woman on the phone.

TGIRR
It's Friday today, and with no school in the afternoon, I had a full day at work. Not much happened, except that one of my co-workers said how it really must be Friday, because he wasn't totally with it, and hadn't noticed for about three hours that he had a brand new computer moniter. Seriously, everyone was out of it today.
The other highlight of the day was the ordering of the first breakfast after the debacle that was the breakfast of Oct. 12 2006. Not only was the food good today, but the breakfast place called this afternoon to check up on how everything was. I guess all's well that ends well.
A pretty boring day at work. However, I'll be back on Monday, doing more temp work, and having more fun.

Work Today
Wow. Today's been quite a day at the office. I'm still temping at my friends independant medical research company, and the fun hasn't been stopping.
The big event of the day happened earlier this morning. Certain people in the office always order breakfast from the same place. First of all, there was some lingering confussion from yesterday as to whether or not the bran muffins were in fact fat-free. The breakfast place claimed they were, but this one co-worker of mine had her doubts. I thought that the office had convinced her to trust the muffins yesterday, when we discussed this issue, but I was dead wrong. This co-worker of mine, let's call her "Jan," had to have the person placing the order ask the breakfast place if the fat-free claims were serious, or an elaborate hoax.
Even more importantly, when the food arrived, things were not as they should have been. The person who placed the call found that his muffing was burnt. He had to call the place and let them know what happened. He suggested that perhaps the burnt muffin came from people rushing to get the order out. He instructed them to just slow down and take their time.
Soon after, Jan noticed that her muffin was burnt as well. Another call had to be made to the breakfast place to inform them of this latest development. Well, after that, everyone who ordered food at the office had to be asked to describe their eating experience today, just to be certain that the breakfast place was trying to pull any more fast ones on the good workers at this medical research company.
